Authentic ft. Sarah Sass Biscarra Dilley

Chosen by Sass, this word took me on a ride. I ended up thinking of authentic in terms of origin and sourcing with commodities. Thus we have Mz Frankenstein made fully out of human parts, shopping for human hair weaves, authentic but not human? What is authentic, then? Second, we have a tear factory for natural saline solution- a literal play on factory conditions and the debates regarding natural labeling.

A teaser of my triptych entitled “∞  &” for the latest installment of Konversation – Vestiges. It’s directly inspired by what I learned from watching every episode of Into the Universe, which led me to reconsider our place with existentialism and blanket theory (i <3 huckabees style). Rising photographer Kerry Butcher is the special guest for this installment, so definitely check out the full exhibit here.

Shout-out to my lips! I’m designing A-1′s tour posters for the month of August (courtesy of Browntourage). Adam’s been a favorite rapper of mine, and his whole team is so nice. Also a nice way to get practice on this form.

In preparation for a browntourage interview with BC Kingdom, I manipulated photos that Hawa took of the duo during their performance at Future | Perfect SF. Let’s just say that you don’t want to know what the background actually was (boring), and that a heavy shout out goes to my Mom’s 80s wardrobe. Keep your eyes pealed for the final interview which will feature an epic cover photo using these manips as parts.
